Phoenix takes in a breath, and the static can be heard just on the edge of his breathing, “There is one night in particular that something happened. In one timeline I was murd҉e͟r͢e҉d̴, and in the other I was th͝e҉ m̛ur̢d̨èr̨er̴. This lead to a event in which, you can probably hear it now, I was plagued with a thing called s̷t̢atìc͝.”
Another sharp jab of pain hits his sinus area, and Phoenix has to take a moment to pinch the bridge of his nose.
"… It’s what’s been l̕eád̶in̴g͏ ̴t͘o all these h͜ea̷da҉c͟he̕s̨. I’ve been trying to control it for a w̛hile̵, ͢but it’s only making it worse.” Wincing, Nick takes in a shaky breath. What he fails to realize is that there is now a small drop of blood threatening to fall upon his lip. It clings to his nostril, and as the man rubs his eyes, it slowly travels along his skin.
"… it hurts."
As he spoke, Hattie could feel her heart starting to race. The static in his voice, she could hear it now, a strange buzzing on the edge of his words. This was a real thing. Changes in the timeline she knew full well about, but she never knew they could have this effect on a person and it worried her.
Worse still it was causing Nick pain and distress. With a gasp of horror she sees the trickle of blood work it’s way down her face. On instinct she grabs her handbag to get a tissue, carefully holding up to Nick’s face.
"Nick…darling. Take it easy." she coos, a slight edge of nerves and fear in her own voice. "It is going to be ok. We will find a way to make this go away…just…please rest."
Stupid stupid stupid. Why has she nagged him for information. Probing into this only caused him pain! It wasn’t like she could have helped him in any way, why did she ask him to explain when it did this to him?! Stupid!
